Services for Johannes Kannegaard, 94, of Melba Route 1, who
died Jan. 31 in a Nampa hospital, will be conducted at 1 p.m.
Wednesday at the Alsip Funeral Chapel with the Rev. George
Beard, pastor of the Nampa Trinity Lutheran Church,
officiating. Interment
will follow in the Melba Cemetery
with graveside rites by Melba I.O.O.F. Lodge 150 and military
rites by the Melba American Legion Divin-Slonecker Post 126.
He was born Dec. 20, 1888, at Torring,
Denmark.
He was reared and
educated in Denmark.
At the age of 19 he
moved to Boise.
He served in the U.S.
Army during W.W. I and following his honorable discharge
returned to Boise and married Marie Hansen.
Following their
marriage, they made their home in Melba where they farmed.
She died in February
of 1946.
He had continued to make his home in Melba.
He attended the Nampa Trinity
Lutheran
Church, was a member and past Noble Grand and
Chaplain of Melba I.O.O.F. Lodge 150, was a charter member of
the Walters Butte Grange 130, a charter and lifetime member of
the American Legion Divin-Slonecker Post 126, a member of the
Farm Bureau and the Scandanavian Society of
Idaho.
He
is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ellis (Ann)
Greenfield, Melba; seven grandchildren
and five great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two sons and one
daughter.

Trinity
Lutheran
Church,
