Cpl. Jess Boicourt

     NAMPA – Requiem Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Nampa for Cpl. Jess (Rusty) Boicourt, 22, who was killed in Vietnam March 11.  The Rev. Robert G. Haggett will be the celebrant.  Interment with military honors will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  Rosary devotions will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday at Shepherd Mortuary Chapel.
    Cpl. Boicourt was born Oct. 23, 1945, in San Mateo, Calif.  He was reared in Nampa, attended St. Paul’s Catholic School, and graduated from Nampa High School in 1964.  He was very active in athletics and other school activities.  He attended the University of Idaho for two years before entering the Marine Corps in August of 1966.
     During boot camp training he received numerous awards, including the Physical Fitness Award and the Leatherneck Award, and earned the rank of Private First Class and the Sharpshooter Medal while at boot camp.  He was named as Honor Man in his platoon upon graduation.  He was killed in action in South Vietnam.  He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church.
    Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Pauline Boicourt of Nampa; a sister, Sister Mary Jean of Cottonwood, Idaho; a brother, John M. Boicourt of Nampa; and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Lola Marsh of Nampa.
     The cortege will leave Shepherd Mortuary for St. Paul’s Catholic Church at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday.
