J. Reid Robinson, 91, of Boise, died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 1989,
in a Boise retirement center. Rosary was recited Friday,
Feb. 3, and Christian wake services were held Saturday, Feb.
4, at Flahiff Funeral Chapel of Nampa. Burial followed
in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Nampa. Mr.
Robinson was born Oct. 2, 1897, at Minneapolis, to Henry W.
and Anna Maxfield Robinson. At 6 months of age, he moved
with his family to Roswell, and was reared and educated at
Roswell and Parma. He attended Oregon State College at
Corvallis, Ore. He married Margaret E. Garrity June 5,
1924, at Twin Falls. They lived at Parma until moving to
Payette in 1931. He was employed by Idaho Power Co. for
many years and served in various capacities including sales
manager of the Western Division. He left Idaho Power in
1949 and moved to Nampa, where he went into the produce
business with the late J.C. Palumbo, and operated his own
farms. He later sold his interest in the produce
business but continued to operate his farms until the time of
his death. Mr. Robinson was a former
member of Parma Lodge No. 49 AF and AM, El Korah Temple of
Boise, and the Payette Shrine Club. He was also a past
member of the Kiwanis Club at Payette.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret of Boise; a son and his
wife, John R. and Frances Robinson Jr. of Nampa; a son-in-law,
Ralph W. Walker of Nampa; 12 grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A
daughter, Kathleen Walker, two brothers, Willard and Kinsey
Robinson, and a sister, Ruth, who died in childhood, died
earlier. The family suggests memorials
be made to St. Paul's Catholic School or the Terry Reilly
