John Gentry

    Graveside services for John M. Gentry, 94, of Wilder, who died Monday, Dec. 3, 1990, at the Caldwell hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Wilder Cemetery, Wilder. The Rev. John Poland of Roseville, Calif., will officiate under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
    Mr. Gentry was born March 13, 1896, at Mountain Grove, Mo., a son of Thomas L. and Sara Elizabeth Sprangler Gentry. He married Mary Ellen Means May 30, 1915, at Willow Springs, Mo. They lived in Missouri until 1943 when they came to Idaho, living around the Homedale and Wilder areas since that time. Mrs. Gentry died Dec. 31, 1970.
    He is survived by four daughters, Gretchen Poland of Roseville, Julia Driskell of West Plains, Mo., Oneal Kyle of Wilder and Bonnie Buck of Emmett; a son, John Richard Gentry of Nampa; a sister, Ona Nalte of Coffeeville, Okla.; 33 grandchildren; and a host of great-and great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, eight brothers, four sisters, seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
    Friends may call today until 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
