HOMEPAGE

John Boicourt

John Marsh Boicourt, 47, died in his sleep Tuesday, April 1, 1997, at a Boise care center following an extended illness.  A Scripture Vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 1997, at Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.  Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, April 7, 1997, at St. Paul's Catholic Church with Father Alfred Puccinelli as celebrant.  Concluding rites will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  A memorial service will be held at Life Care Center, 808 N. Curtis Road, Boise, at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 1997.  All are welcome to attend any or all services.
John was born on August 16, 1949, in Sacramento, Calif., to Jess and Pauline Boicourt.  He was raised in Nampa, graduating from Nampa High School in 1967.  John worked for Idaho First National Bank for several years before becoming a sales representative for manufactured home companies and two national horse trailer manufacturers.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing, golfing and horseback riding.
He is survived by his mother, Pauline of Nampa; a sister, M. Jean Lalande, O.S.B of the Monastery of St. Gertrude in Cottonwood, ID, a son and daughter-in-law, Rusty and Sheri and grandson, Tristan, a daughter and son-in-law, Kristine and Jason Penavs; and a son, John, all of whom reside in Nampa.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Jess "Rusty" Boicourt.
Friends may call at the Alsip Funeral Chapel from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
Some of Dad's happiest memories were of his childhood visits to the "convent."  He loved being there and he had a special affection for the good Sisters of St. Benedict.  He never forgot their generosity and kindness to him.  We think he would be pleased if, in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory were made to the Monastery of St. Gertrude, HC 3, Box 121, Cottonwood, ID 853522.
