Jack L. Frickey, 66, of Nampa, went to be with the Lord,
Saturday, October 28, 1995, at his home. funeral
services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 2,
1995, at the Nampa First Southern Baptist Church, 1311 E.
Sherman Ave. Pastor John S. Henry will officiate.
Burial will follow in Melba Cemetery. Services are under
direction of Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
Jack was born Feb. 24, 1929, the youngest of 10 children to
John S. and Letha Gilmore Frickey. He was raised and
educated in the Melba area where he met Betty Workman and they
were married on Sept. 12, 1946, in Winnemucca, Nevada.
Jack served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 until 1948. He
then moved to Spokane for a time, and for several years he
lived and worked in Alaska and Nebraska. Jack worked in
construction, driving truck in the oil well fields. Upon
moving back to Idaho he owned and operated several businesses
including a milk route, a service station, a custom combine
service, scrap metal business, heavy equipment business, truck
brokerage, and trucking service. Before retiring he
owned several cocktail lounges.
Jack was a 39-year member of the Nampa Elks Lodge, Past
Exalted Ruler and trustee. He was also a 26-year member
of the Melba American Legion, Post 0126.
His special interests include flying his own plane, trap
shooting and conversing with his many friends and family.
After retirement, he and Betty enjoyed traveling to Alaska and
Arizona.
This a a poem Jack sent to Betty while he was in the service;
HEAVENLY LOVE
I do believe the Lord above, created you for me to love.
He picked you out from all the rest, because he knew I'd love
you best.
I had a heart both brave and true, but now it's gone from me
to you.
Take care of it as I have done, for you have two and I have
none.
If I go to heaven and you're not there, I'll paint your face
on the golden stair.
So all the angels will look and see, exactly what you mean to
me.
If you're not there by judgment day, I'll know you've gone
the other way.
I'll give the angels back their wings, their halos, and all
the other things.
And just to show you my love is true, I'll go to hell dear,
just for you.

He is survived by his wife, Betty of Nampa; three sons,
Steve Frickey and his wife Shelley, Mark Frickey and his wife
Judy, and Jack G. Frickey, all of Nampa; a daughter, Cheryl
Boden and her husband Don of Nampa; 10 grandchildren; 4
great-grand-daughters; two brothers, Howard Frickey of Nampa,
and Paul Frickey of Arizona; one sister, Marjorie Thornbrugh
of Nampa; mother-in-law, Artie Workman of Melba; and numerous
nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers,
Marshall, Virgil, Jim, and Don Frickey; two sisters, Dorothy
Kurtz, and Evelyn Frickey; father-in-law, Golden (G.W.)
Workman; and one infant grandson, John Frickey.
Jack was a bright light in his family's eyes and he will be
greatly missed.
Memorials may be made to the First Southern Baptist Church,
14311 E. Sherman Ave., Nampa, ID 83651.
Friends may call at Alsip Funeral Chapel on today until 9
p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. |
