Graveside services for John
Henry Hinton, 83, Caldwell, who died Saturday, Feb. 1, at a
San Diego, Calif., hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m.
Thursday at the Roswell Cemetery, Roswell.
The Rev. Jim McMillan of the Free Methodist Church,
Caldwell, will officiate. The cortege will leave the Flahiff
Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, at 1: 15 p.m.
Mr. Hinton was born July 20, 1902, at Cashmere, Wash., a
son of Charles O. and Minerva North Hinton. He moved with his
family as a child to Homedale where he was reared and
educated.
He married Lula Eads on July 19, 1923, in Vale, Ore. The
couple made their home in the Succor Creek area and near
Jordan Valley during his ranching career. He retired in 1959
and they made their home in Caldwell.
The couple celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary last
year and had been spending the winters in Quartsite, Ariz.
He was an avid horseman who loved the outdoors and enjoyed
fishing, dancing and playing horseshoes.
He is survived by his wife of Caldwell; two daughters,
Louise (Mrs. Carl) Klahr of Caldwell and LaVonne (Mrs. Dale)
Luby of Rigby; a brother, George Hinton of Heppner, Ore.; a
sister LuIu Burril of Boise; three grandchildren, Connie
Clapier, Carol Jones and Lon Klahr; seven great-grandchildren;
two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and
cousins.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Friends may call Wednesday from 1 until 8 p.m. and
Thursday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Flahiff Funeral
Chapel, Caldwell. |
