Joseph Schreiner

     NAMPA – Requiem Mass for Joseph Schreiner, 82, of 223 Banner, who was found dead at his home Friday, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul’s Catholic Church by the Rev. Fr. Henry F. McCloskey S.M. Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  Rosary will be recited at 8 tonight at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
      Born Feb. 23, 1890, in Bryan, Germany, Mr. Schreiner came to the U.S. in 1896 with his family and settled in Athens, Wis., where he was reared and attended schools.  In 1915 he came to the Mud Lake area near Idaho Falls and homesteaded.  He returned to Wisconsin in 1917 and married Mary Ann Kaiser on June 13, 1917, at Athens, where they lived until 1939.  Then they moved to Nampa, where he farmed until retiring in 1955.  Mrs. Schreiner died June 8, 1954.
     He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church.

     Surviving are three sons, Norbert J. Schreiner and George J. Schreiner, both of Nampa and Clarence F. Schreiner, Boise; two brothers, Rudolph Schreiner of Athens and Edward Schreiner of Tomahawk, Wis.; a sister Mrs. Elizabeth Holbach of Athens; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.  Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
