Joseph A. Geier

          Rosary services for Joseph A Geier, 66, 420 Ninth Ave. N. who died Monday in a local hospital, will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Shepherd Mortuary.
          Requiem low mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Paul’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Ellis Carver, S.M., officiating.  Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
          Mr. Geier was born May 14, 1899, in Odessa, Russia.  He came with his parents to America in 1910.  He lived and attended school in Aberdeen, S.D.  He married Margaret Adler in 1919 in Aberdeen.  They moved in 1942 to Vancouver, Wash., where he worked as a machinist in the shipyards.  He moved in 1945 to Burbank, Calif., where he worked in the aircraft industry.  They came to Nampa in 1946.  He worked at St. Paul’s Church for 17 months.
          Mr. Geier was employed at the Dewey Palace Hotel as a engineer from 1947 until it closed.  He worked for the Nampa State School until he retired.
          He is survived by his wife, Margaret; three daughters, Mrs. Pearl Tomek of Aberdeen, Mrs. Marie Stevens of Sioux Falls, S.D. and Mrs. Gloria Huttle of West Port., S.D.; two sons, Martin J Geier and George Geier, both of Nampa; four sisters, Mrs. Katie Stapler of Bowdle, S.D., Mrs. Eva Grefrey and Mrs. Lena Yoner, both of Aberdeen and Mrs. Berdina Brendle of Topeka, Kan.; 24 grandchildren.  One brother and one sister preceded him in death.
       Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or flowers may be sent.

    Services are under the direction of Shepherd Mortuary.
