Gordon Hammond

    Graveside services for Gordon L. Hammond, 81, of Caldwell, who died Monday, Sept. 7, at a Boise hospital of natural causes, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Parma Cemetery, Parma.
    Chaplain Bridget Burlison, of Boise, will officiate under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.  Graveside rites will be recited by the IOOF Lodge No. 55, Parma.
    Mr. Hammond was born Dec. 26, 1905, at Vale, Ore., to Charles E. and Anna M. Hammond.  He moved as a young boy to the Parma area where he was raised and educated.
    He married Lucille Wheatley Nov. 15, 1929, at Caldwell.
    He worked as a carpenter and painter for a number of years.  He had worked for the Parma phone company for seven years.
    They moved in 1961 to Caldwell, where they had since resided.
    He was a member of the Parma IOOF Lodge No. 55.
    He is survived by his wife of Caldwell; a daughter, Louella (Mrs. Don) Hedges of Bruneau; a son, Lloyd R. Hammond of Boise: a sister, Maybell King of Nampa; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in heath by four brothers, two sisters and two daughters.
