G. Ione Hickox, 81, of
Wilder, died Thursday, March 17, 1994, at a Nampa care center.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday March 21,
1994, at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. A nephew, Rev. Jim
Rider of Gig Harbor, Washington, will officiate assisted by
Rev. Ramiro Cruz-Ahedo of the Wilder United Methodist Church.
Interment will follow at the Wilder Cemetery. Mrs. Hickox
was born Nov. 7, 1910, on the family homestead near Wilder, a
first child, and daughter of Pete and Gladys Stone Kreider.
She was reared and educated in Wilder and graduated from the
College of Idaho in 1932. She married Volney William Hickox
on April 16, 1933, in Caldwell by Dr. Springer.
The couple settled in Weiser where he did custom farming.
In 1939, they moved to Wilder to the Kreider family ranch
where they have since resided. Mr. Hickox died Oct. 31, 1992.
Ione was a member and Past Noble Grand of the Rebeccah
Lodge #75, Wilder, and a life time member of the Wilder United
Methodist Church.
She was also a retired member of Eastern Star, Wilder.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, William and
Nona Hickox; a son-in-law, Jim Kenney of Melba; a brother and
sister-in-law, Warren and Joann Kreider of Evanston, Wyo.; a
sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Frank Albrecht of
Portland, Ore.; five grandchildren, Jeff Keeney and his wife
Theresa of Melba, Jonica Oats of Eagle, Janet Keeney of Forest
Grove, Oregon, Holly and her husband Paul Escobar of Boise and
Chad Hickox of Boise, and five great-grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Phyllis Keeney
and a great-grandson, Kole Jimmy Keeney.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the Wilder
United Methodist Church. |
