Grover Harnar

    Grover Eugene Harnar, 74, of Parma, passed away of natural causes, on Sunday, Oct. 13, 1996, at the home of his son, Gary Harnar in Jordan Valley, OR.  Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the Parma Cemetery.  Services are under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
    Grover was born in Sulphur Springs, Arkansas. He attended school in Lanagan, MO.  He married Willadeen Nims, July 18, 1942, in Lanagan.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945.  After returning from the Army, they moved their family to Parma in 1948 and he worked at S.E. Johnson Co.  Grover worked at Amalgamated Sugar at Nyssa until he retired in 1983.  Grover enjoyed numerous activities to include walking 5 miles a day.  He spent many hours in his garden and mowing his lawn.  He loved watching the Atlanta Braves; that was his team.  Grover enjoyed being with his grandchildren, Monte, Nicki, Joe, Jackie, Jim, Trina, and Jason and enjoyed his great-grandchildren.
    Survivors include three sons, Gary and his wife, Ila Harnar of Jordan Valley, OR., Dean and his wife, Billie Harnar of Parma and Dale Harnar, also of Parma; special friends include Odee Gordon of Boise and Anita Cotton of Roswell, ID.; a sister, Leona Latty of Lanagan, MO.; 2 brothers, George Harnar of Noel, MO., C.A. Harnar of Southwest City, MO.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Willadeen; his mother and father, Charles
