Services for Fred W. Johnson, 82, of Wilder, who died
Thursday, Aug. 29, in a Caldwell
hospital of natural causes, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday
at the Dakan Funeral Chapel,
Parma.
Interment will follow in the Wilder
Cemetery.
Mr.
Johnson was born Aug. 5, 1903, in Douglas County, Mo., the son
of Sirene and Cora Johnson, where he was raised.
He married Pearly
Morris in 1921 at Ava., Mo.
They lived in
Missouri
until 1943 when they moved to
Portland,
Ore.
They then moved to
Idaho
for a short time before returning to
Missouri.
In 1948, they returned
to Idaho, where they farmed
at Wilder for many years.
He was ordained to the ministry in 1933 and pastored
in various churches, including Parma Missionary
Baptist
Church
for 10 to 12 years. Mrs.
Johnson died June 18, 1984. He
was a member of the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church of
Wilder.
He is survived by two sons, Cecil Johnson of Wilder and
Plais Johnson of Parma; five daughters, Deloice Lattion of
Lebanon, Ore., Fleta Roper of Wilder, Lorene Counts of St.
Clair, Mo., Loretta Montague of Weiser and Bonnie Dobyns of
Gillette, Wyo.; one brother, Mason Johnson of Willow Springs,
Mo.; four sisters, Clearcy Johnson of Wilder, Elsie Collins of
Parma, Zella Davis of Willow Springs, and Gertie Davis of
Caldwell; 21 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and three
great-great-grandchildren.
He
was preceded in death by his wife.
Memorials may be made to the Idaho Heart Association in care
of the Dakan Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 1386, Caldwell 83606.
Friends may call at the chapel in Caldwell today from 5 to 9
p.m.
