Flora Martin

    Graveside services for Flora Evelyn Martin, 68, of Pendleton, Oregon and formerly of Caldwell, who died Tuesday, August 4, in a Portland hospital, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell. Services were held today at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Pilot Rock, Oregon.
    Mrs. Martin was born September 21, 1918, at Republican City Nebraska to Elvin J. and Grace Pearson Helms.
    She married Francis Martin February 10, 1936, at Phillipsburg, Kansas. They moved to Caldwell where they lived until 1952 when they moved to a ranch at Weippe, Idaho.
    They moved to Oregon, living at Yuma Pine, Pilot Rock and Pendleton. They had resided in Pendleton since 1979. Until her retirement she had worked as a cook at Camlu Retirement Center, Pendleton.
    She is survived by her husband of Pendleton; a daughter, Connie Purvis of Portland, Oregon; a son, Larry Martin of Pendleton; four sisters, Ethel Rumbaugh of Caldwell, Doris Portenier of Phillipsburg, June Shannon of Pendleton and Rosabell Betts of Nevada, Iowa; three grandsons and a granddaughter.
