Funeral services for Frank
M. Hilton, 72, 708 18th Ave. S., Nampa, who died Saturday in a
Nampa hospital, will be conducted 10 a.m. Tuesday at Flahiff
Funeral Chapel, Nampa, with Atwell Parry of Melba officiating.
Interment will be at the Melba Cemetery.
He was born Oct. 9, 1910, at Stanwood, Wash., to Robert
and Anna Mattingly Hilton. He spent his early years in
Washington, California and Tennessee, until his family settled
near Givens Hot Springs in 1925. He attended schools at
Givens Springs and Melba. He married Thelma Souders on Dec.
26, 1930 in Nampa. He spent most of his life building in the
Nampa, Melba and Boise areas, working on projects including
Provident Federal in Nampa and Boise, Titan Missile Site at
Grand View, and Hells Canyon Dam. He belonged to the Nampa
Carpenters Union.
He retired in 1967 because of an on-the-job injury. He
worked for the Department of Defense in Kodiak, Ala., and
Portland, Ore., during WWII. After the war he worked for one
year in real estate In Portland.
He is survived by his wife of Nampa; two sons, Robert of
Anchorage, Alaska, and Charles of Tacoma, Wash.; seven
daughters, Jeanette Cook and Jeanine Olsen, both of Melba,
Martha Graham of Murphy, Hazel Gilliham of Olympia, Wash.,
Frankie Higgins, Anita Childs and Carole Mooney, all of Nampa;
one brother, Charles Hilton of Ocean Park, Wash.; 30
grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son and one granddaughter.
Memorials may be given to the Mountain States Tumor in
Boise and the Idaho Youth Ranch.
Friends may call at the chapel Monday between 3 and 7 p.m.
