Services for Floyd M.
Higgins, 87 of 2609 Sunnybrook Dr., Nampa who died Dec. 29 at
a Nampa retirement center will be conducted at 10:30 a.m.
Monday at the Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell by Rev. Doug
Bolles of the Church of the Nazarene, LaGrande, Ore.
He was born in Daykin, Nebraska. At the age of six he
moved with his parents to Bristol, Colo, where he was reared
and educated. He enlisted in the Army Oct. 13, 1918 in LaMar,
Colo. and served with the French Occupation Forces. He was
honorably discharged June 20, 1919 in Fort Russell, Wyoming as
a member of the 4th Gas Company.
He married Velma McGee, June 29, 1919 in Brandon. Colo.
They moved to Parma in 1926 and worked in the area at various
jobs. They moved to Nampa in 1958 where they have since
resided with the exception of a brief time they spent living
in Parma.
He was a member of the Nazarene Church.
Survivors include three daughter, Dorothy Elwood, Emmett,
Viola Hawkins, Parma and Lilyanna Pain, Nampa; one son, Rev
Lyle Higgins, Nampa; two sisters, Blanche Neyman, Boise, Hazel
Nichols, Ontario; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Floyd LeRoy; one
brother, Jesse Higgins; three sisters, Dorothy Jane Smith,
Mildred and Ruby Higgins; One granddaughter and two great
granddaughters. The family suggests memorials be made to the
Cody Taylor Benefit Fund. Friends may call at the chapel from
4 to 8 p.m. today. |
