Frank K. Maenaka

    CALDWELL - Services for Frank K. Maenaka, 54, 2622 Cleveland Blvd., who died Wednesday in a Caldwell hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, by the Rev. Dale Vandegriff of St. David's Episcopal Church.
    Interment will be at Canyon Hill Cemetery.
    He was born on Aug. 27, 102-, in Olathe, Colo., and came to Idaho as a young man.  He attended schools in Parma and Fruitland.  He entered the United States Army in 1941 and served with the 442nd Infantry Regiment in Rome-Arne and Southern France during World War II.
    He received the combat-infantry award with two Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart during his army service.  After his discharge in 1945, he returned to Caldwell and has owned and operated the Golden Pheasant Cafe since 1949.  He married JoAnn Takao on June 23, 1954, in Caldwell.
    Surviving are a son, Michael Maenaka, Caldwell; a daughter, Patty Maenaka, Mauai, Hawaii; two sisters, Chidori Maenaka, Coos Bay, Ore., and Susi Oi, Eugene, Ore., and a nephew, Steve Maenaka, Klamath Falls, Ore.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
    Friends may call at the chapel on Friday morning.
