Francis Herman

    Graveside services for Francis J. Herman, 64, of Nampa, who died Friday, Nov. 1, 1991, at a Nampa care center, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Nampa.  The Rev. Father Francis Springer, S.M., of St. Paul's Catholic Church will officiate.  A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the rectory's chapel at St. Paul's Catholic Church.  Services are under the direction of Persons-Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
    Mr. Herman was born Feb. 5, 1907, at Nampa, a son of Walter and Matilda Herman.  At an early age the family moved to Melba where the family homesteaded, and Francis began to attend school. He then attended Glenndale school and graduated From Nampa High School.  Francis farmed with his father until he attended college at Portland University.  He came back to Melba and went into partnership with his father.  He met Helen Willers in Seattle, Wash., while visiting relatives and they later married in Seattle, Dec. 8, 1948.  They made their home in Melba where Francis farmed until his retirement in 1971.  In 1974 Francis and Helen moved to Nampa where they had since resided.
    He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Nampa Elks Lodge No. 1389, B.P.O.E., and the Knights of Columbus.
    Francis is survived by his wife, Helen of Nampa.
    He was preceded in death by a younger brother.
    Friends may call today until 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Persons-Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa
