Edith Carpenter

    Services for Edith F. Carpenter, 89, Caldwell, a longtime Wilder resident who died Wednesday evening in a Caldwell hospital, will be conducted Saturday by the Reverend Ralph Cornwell of Boise. Interment will be at the Wilder Cemetery.
   Mrs. Carpenter was born February 11, 1883 in Henry County, Illinois and moved with her parents to Belleville, Kansas when she was five. She married Cornelius Carpenter April 13, 1898 in her home. They moved to Harper County, Oklahoma in 1900 and homesteaded. In 1932 they moved to Wilder. Mr. Carpenter died in 1959.
   She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Oklahoma.
   Surviving are seven sons, Randall, Leslie, Harold and Charles Carpenter, all of Wilder, Clifford Carpenter of Rainier, Oregon, Harry Carpenter of American Falls and Rex Carpenter of Vale; 26 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. A daughter, Mary Graber of Wilder, died in 1963.
