Rosary for Elena Vera Serratos, 87,
115 Ogden Ave., Nampa, who died Saturday, May 12, at a
Carmichael, Calif.,
hospital, will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Flahiff
Funeral Chapel of Nampa.
The Rev. Merle J. Fisher, S.M., will officiate.
Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at
St. Paul's Catholic Church by the Rev.
James L. Pratt, S.M. Interment
will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery,
Nampa.
Mrs. Serratos was
born Jan. 4, 1897, in Arandas,
Jalesco, Mexico, to Julian and Julia Serratos,
where she was reared and educated. She married Jesus C.
Serratos on April 22, 1914, in Arandas, where they made their
home until immigrating to the
United States
on March 7, 1920.
They lived in several areas of the midwest and came to
Nampa
in 1940 where she had lived since.
Mr. Serratos died
Aug. 24. 1967. She had
been in California since February 1984.
She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church.
She is survived by
six sons, Raymond. Ralph and Eli Serratos, all of Nampa; Lupe
Serratos, Wilder, Art Serratos, Emmett, and Theodore Serratos,
Boise; six daughters, Clara Serratos, Nampa, Mary Duran,
Lincoln, Calif., Jessie Gibson, Citrus Heights, Calif., Carmen
Bond, Hermiston, Ore., Frances Foreman, Denver, Colo., and
Helen (Chris) Johnston, Nampa; one sister, Josephine Serratos,
Arandas, Mexico; 28 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two
great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Three brothers,
four sisters, two grandchildren and one daughter-in-law
preceded her in death. |
