Memorial funeral services for Eleanor Gay Franklin, 36, New
York City, formerly of Parma, who died of natural causes
Saturday in a Nyssa, Ore., nursing home, will be conducted at
4 p.m. Wednesday at the Kirkpatrick Memorial Community Church,
Parma, by the Rev. Paul Evans of Kirkpatrick Memorial
Community Church, Parma, under the direction of Dakan Funeral
Chapel, Parma.
She was born May 10, 1945, in Ontario, Ore. She was
reared and educated in Parma, and attended the University of
Idaho and the School of Visual Arts, New York City. She
assisted her father at the University of Idaho Research and
Extension Center, Parma, and was foreman of the roguing crew
for Pete Olesen and Associates, Caldwell. She held
secretarial positions at Time magazine, Ports Illustrated, and
Camera V from 1966 to 1974, and was a picture researcher for
Time from 1974 until her death. She was a past honored
queen of Job's Daughters. She played tournament tennis
for the state of Idaho in Mountain States competition.
She was a member of the Rainier Chapter of the DAR, Seattle.
She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. DeLance Franklin
of Parma; a brother, DeLance Jr. of New York City; and several
aunts and uncles.
Memorials may be made to the Malheur Hospital Nursing
Facility, Nyssa, Ore., for the van fund. |
