Graveside
services for Elva Farnworth hardy, 82, of Wilder, who died
Saturday, Dec. 31, at a Caldwell hospital, will be conducted
at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Wilder Cemetery in Wilder.
Bishop Dale Peterson of the Caldwell Third Ward of the Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will officiate under the
direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
Mrs. Hardy was born June 8, 1901, at Mount Pleasant, Utah.
She was reared and educated in Mount Pleasant. She
married George O. Farnworth in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Sept.
27, 1919. They moved to Castle Dale, Utah, in 1932 and
lived there until 1940 when they moved to Wilder.
She started working at the J.R. Simplot Co. in Caldwell in
1942. Mr. Farnworth died in July of 1975. She
married Franklin Hardy at Elko, Nev., on April 17, 1958.
She retired from Simplot in 1959. In 1973 they moved
from Wilder to Nampa. Mr. Hardy died in January of 1976.
She moved to Wilder in 1976 where she had since resided.
She liked to travel and spent some of her time on hunting and
fishing trips. She was a member of the Homedale3 Ward of
the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the
Homedale senior citizens.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty Poland of Caldwell; a
son, Verly Fanrworth of Salt Lake City; six step-children; a
sister, Millie Tyson of Bountiful, Utah; six grandchildren; 17
great-grandchildren; numerous step-grand and
great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sons, 13 brothers and
sisters, and four grandchildren.
Friends may call at the chapel Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 6
p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until noon.
Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association,
