Community Church, Parma. Pastor David Kegley will officiate

Elly Gotsch was born March 30, 1907, in Laboe, Germany.
In 1931, she immigrated to Parma and on July 20, 1931, she
married her fiancee, Carl Gotsch, in Vale, Oregon. The couple
settled on the Mitchell farm north of Parma. I n 1939, Elly
and Carl moved to the Ten Davis community where they resided
for over 50 years.
Elly was one of the earliest members and a stalwart of the
Ten Davis Social Circle. The 70-year-old Circle, which
continues to this day, has been the heart of much of the
community's life. Elly served many times in its various
offices and remained an active member of the Circle until her
move to Sunny Ridge Retirement Center in 1992.
The Ten Davis community has changed greatly in the 50
years that Carl and Elly resided there. However, Elly leaves
a legacy of neighborliness and caring that provides an example
to the present generation. Her life exemplifies a continuity
of family and community commitment that has endured to this
day. She was a special person in a special place. Elly will
be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and
great-grandmother by her family; she will be remembered for
her kindness and generosity by all who knew her.
Elly was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, in 1986.
She is survived by three sons and their wives, Carl Gotsch
of Palo Alto, California, and Hans and Bill Gotsch, both of
Parma; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; three
sisters; one brother, and numerous other relatives living in
Germany.
Memorials may be made to the Support Our Students Fund,
P.O. Box 60, Parma, Idaho; the Kirkpatrick Church; or the
Parma Senior Citizens. |
