Cleora Fisk |
Cleora Campbell Fisk of Parma died early Monday, October 23,
1995, at the Nampa Care Center. She died of
complications of age. She was 104.
A memorial service will be held Friday, October 27, 1t 11
a.m. at Kirkpatick Memorial Community Church in Parma, with
the Rev. David Kegley officiating. Services are under
direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
Mrs. Fisk was born December 29, 1890, near Bloomington, Ill.
to Bryson Monroe and Mary Dodds Campbell. She and her
family first moved to Indianola, Iowa; and from there to Parma
in 1906. Mrs. Fisk was the first graduate from Parma
High School in 1908. She then passed the examination
allowing her to teach elementary school. She taught in
Apple Valley and Parma until 1919. Mrs. Fisk thoroughly
enjoyed teaching, and continued to teach after her marriage in
1914 - something unheard of in that day.
Mrs. Fisk served on the Parma School Board for 24 years, many
of those years as Clerk, and was instrumental in beginning the
school hot lunch program. Mrs. Fisk pursued a career in
community activities. Among these, she was a longtime
member of the Kirkpatrick Memorial Community Church, serving
as Elder and Clerk of the Session, and President of the
Women's Association; she was Past Matron and a 50-year member
of the Order of Eastern Star; and a member of P.E.O. and
Senior Citizens.
She married Roger Lee Fisk of Parma on June 11, 1914, and
they celebrated their 50th Anniversary in 1964.
Mrs. Fisk is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Chesley
and Irma Fisk of Nampa; a daughter, Ruth Elliott of Vancouver,
WA; and a son, Roger Lee Fisk Jr., also of Nampa; seven
grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces
and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Ruth
Allen Clonninger and Kate Willis; and two brothers, J.W.
"Bill" and Dale D. "Jack" Campbell.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Kirkpatrick
Memorial Community Church, Parma, Idaho 83660. |
