that he
married and his wife died, but then also mentions
that his wife survives him.

NAMPA
– Requiem Mass for Claude (Smoke) Raymond Campbell, 56, 423
Chestnut St., who died at an Ashton hospital Monday, will be
celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Paul’s Catholic Church.
The Rev. Fr. Edward Donze, S.M., will be celebrant.
Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Members of Nampa Lodge No. 1389, BPOE, will be in charge
of graveside services. Rosary devotions will be recited at 8
p.m. Thursday in the Alsip Chapel.
He was born April 18, 1910 at Fulton, Kan. He was a
railroad conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad Co., and
served in the 729th Railroad Battalion as a
sergeant during World War II.
He was a member of Nampa Lodge No. 1389, BPOE; the order
of Railway Conductors; and a member of St. Paul’s Catholic
Church.
Mr. Campbell came to Nampa with his parents in 1923, and
was graduated from Nampa High School. He went to work for the
Union Pacific Railroad in 1935 at Glenns Ferry. He married
Margaret Sullivan at Pocatello in 1945, and she died after a
short illness.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Michael Campbell of
Fort Campbell, Ky., Patrick Campbell and Daniel Campbell, both
of Nampa; two daughters, Mary Anne Campbell of Nampa, and Mrs.
Linda Spray of Sacramento, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Regina
Galloway of Caldwell, and two nephews and a niece. |
