Consuelo "Connie" Estrada Gregory, 34, of Lacey, Wash., and
formerly of Melba, died Friday, March 1, 1991, at a Tacoma,
Wash., hospital. vigil Service will be celebrated at
7:30 Tuesday, March 5, at the Alsip funeral Chapel, Nampa.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday, March, 6, at St.
Joseph's Catholic Church, Melba Father Juan Carranco will be
celebrant. Interment will follow in the Melba Cemetery.
Connie was born Jan. 1, 1957, at Eagle Pass, Texas, to
Jose and Anastacia Guerrero Estrada. At the age of 4 she came
to Melba with her parents where she was reared and educated,
graduating from Melba High School in 1973. While at Melba
High School she was on the drill team, the debating team and a
member of the Melba 4-H. She then attended Boise State
University where she was a member of the Boise State flag
corps, the Miester Choir and a member of M.E.C.H.A. From 1983
to 1985 she was a clerical specialist for the Boise S.B.A.
office. She married James K. Gregory Dec. 17, 1985, in Boise.
They later moved to Germany where James was stationed with
the U.S. Army. In August 1989 they moved to Fort Lewis,
Wash., where they had since resided.
Connie loved writing poetry and short stories about the
outdoors. She will always be remembered as a high spirited
fighter, who defied the odds and constantly strived to live
each day to the fullest. Reader, poet, lover of life, she
gave her support selflessly until the day she died. She
leaves behind a husband, a daughter and a family, but most of
all, she leaves behind a world lonelier for the loss, but also
many lives richer for her experience. If Connie had lived by
any one motto, it would hate been, ''Seize the Day."
She is survived by her husband, James, U.S. Army, Lacy,
Wash.; a daughter, Andrea Cecelia Danielle Gregory, at home;
her parents, Jose and Anastacia Estrada, Melba; seven
brothers, Guadalupe Estrada, Kennewick, Wash., Gonzalo
Estrada, Melba, Antonio Estrada, U.S. Navy, Lubbock, Texas,
Joe Estrada Jr., U.S. Amy, Fort Jackson, Miss., Francisco
Estrada, U.S. Army, Fort Polk, La., Alejandro "Alex" Estrada,
,San Diego, Calif., and Juan Estrada, San Leandro, Calif.;
three sisters, Rosa Elva Dimas, Bruneau, Idaho, Maria Ramsey,
Boise, and Rosario Cornforth, Fort Lewis; and numerous nieces,
nephews, aunts and uncles.
Friends may call at the Alsip Funeral Chapel from 6 to 9
p.m. today and Tuesday from 8 a.m 9 p.m. |
