Clay Garrett

   Graveside services for Clay A. Garrett, 83, of Caldwell, who died Monday, May 20, in a Caldwell hospital of natural causes, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Wilder Cemetery.
   Pastor John Sinclair of the First Christian Church, Caldwell, will officiate under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
   Mr. Garrett, a retired farmer, was born March 6, 1902, at Star to Thomas and Elizabeth Garrett. They homesteaded in Long Valley. In 1913 the family moved to Competition, Mo.
   He married Hila Chambers in 1919, at Competition, where they owned and operated a farm and their five children were born.
   The family moved to Wilder in 1936. He worked for John Batt Farms until his retirement in 1967. He also owned and operated a farm west of Wilder for 20 years prior to his retirement.
   They moved to Caldwell in 1972 where they had since resided.
   He is survived by his wife of Caldwell; three sons, Dwaine of Mission Viejo, Calif., Harold of Los Gatos, Calif., and Dale of Caldwell; two daughters, Lorraine Beavers of Boise and Elizabeth Kirkhart of Caldwell; one sister, Ila Garrett of Lebanon, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
   His parents and two brothers, Buhl and Farris, died earlier.
   Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Crippled Children’s Hospital, in care of Dakan Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 1386, Caldwell, Idaho 83606.
   Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight at the chapel.
