Anita Rumbaugh
    Anita Martell Rumbaugh, 47, of Caldwell, died at home after a short bout with cancer.
    Memorial services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the Oregon Trail Church of God, 20057 Old Highway 30, Caldwell. Pastors Bill Shepherd and Don Hardenbrook will officiate. Burial will be at the Greenleaf Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
    Anita was born the first child of Jake R. and Vada N. Martell of Greenleaf, on September 17, 1947. She attended the country schools Franklin, Lone Tree, and Pleasant Ridge. She was actively involved in Youth for Christ, drill team, choir, and drama productions while attending Caldwell Junior and Senior High Schools. She furthered her education at Warner Pacific College in Portland and also earned a dental assisting degree.
    On September 1, 1968, Anita married Melvin Rumbaugh in Caldwell, where they made their home. Their daughter, Nichole, was born on April 3, 1974. Anita spent most of her working years as a secretary/office manager for Morrison Knudsen Co. She was a Beta Sigma Phi Sorority member and her diverse interests included Bridge, Scrabble, yard sales, auctions, and being a professional model. An important part of her life was her involvement in the Oregon Trail Church of God. Anita used her God-given talents to benefit the church youth and music programs.
    She is survived by her husband, Mel; her daughter, Nichole; parents, Jake and Vada Martell; grandmother, Marie Fulkerson of Salmon; brother, Jim Martell and his wife, Sandra of Greenleaf; a sister, Cheryl Hardy and her husband, Bruce of Pendleton, Indiana; three nieces, Ashley Martell, Marly and Abby Hardy; and a grand-nephew Ezekiel Martell. She was preceded in death by her nephew, Jason B. Martell.
    Friends may call at Dakan Funeral Chapel today from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. as the viewing will be held.
    The family suggests memorials to be made to the Oregon Trail Church of God Youth or flowers may be sent.
