Submitter: Sharon Van Amburg, Family

I just received a letter that was sent to one of my ancestors Feb 10, 1919. It is from a Dr J B Vanamburg from Charles City, Iowa mailed to Washta, Iowa (Page county?) He refers to my ancestor as his nephew. Where I could find out information on this gentleman. It mentions he was married April 21, however he also mentions his failing health. I am searching for VanAmburg (VanAmberg), Hursh, Hoon, Clark families in the Floyd, Cherokee and Page counties of Iowa. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Submitter: Linda Patterson VEACH, Family

I am researching my ggrandmother, Mary Elizabeth Veach. Family memory has it that she was born in Clarinda, Iowa. I believe she would have been born between 1850-1865. Her parents were supposed to have run the grocery store in Clarinda.
I believe her parents are Thomas Veach, b. 1820 and Margaret Emily Polsley, born 1822. Her parents were married in Indiana in 1842 and supposedly migrated through Missouri before settling in Iowa. I think Mary had at least two brothers, Robert L. Veach, born 1843 and John Veach, born 1846. Mary Elizabeth Veach married William Cale and eventually settled in Sioux City, Iowa, having a child in 1888.
Could you tell me how I might find more information on the Veaches and what early records exist for Page County?
Thank you,
