He was a Farmer all his life and a member of the Covenanter Church, Harlan Twp., Page Co., Iowa; 
At the age of 23 years, he married on 3 Sep. 1884, on PINKERTON GROVE, 
with the Rev. DAVID McKEE officiating to the [REF:#003]
20 year old Miss Margaret "Mag" Jane PINKERTON;
She is the sixth child and second oldest daughter of 
SAMUEL W. PINKERTON Mother: MARGARET J. SMITH)

 Jim U. and Mag. J. (Pinkerton) McKEOWN
lived just North of the Covenanter Church in Harlan Twp., Iowa (Section 14 & 23), 
(On the McKeown orginal 1858) "HomePlace" later about 1938 they removed to a apartment 
at 205 E Garfield St., Clarinda, Iowa; He was a life-long member of the 
Reformed Presbyterian Church "Covenanters", in Harlan Twp. for many years was a 
teacher in the Sabbath school, the Senior elder in the session of the congregation, 
an office which he held for 38 years, and 29 consecutive years was the clerk of the sessions. 
Prior to his election as elder he held the office of deacon for 11 years,

Store prior to her retirement, later was living in the 
"Goldenrod Manor" Nursing Home in Clarinda; 
ELSIE I. (DAVISON) McKEOWN is survived by a sister-in-law, 
MILDRED DAVISON of Clarinda, one niece and several cousins. 
Funeral services were held this Monday afternoon at 
WALKER-MERRICK Funeral Home with Rev. MARK WITMER
