First Generation! MATTHEW FORSYTHE; was born about 1794, at County Antrim, Ireland. Died about 1871, at the age of 79 years, in Harrison Co., OH; Buried in the "Londonderry Cemetery", (The old Covenanter Cemetery) This Cemetery is located on State Hwy 21, just North of the Londonderry Methodist Cemetery on Hwy US22. At the age of 29 years he married about 1823, in Allegheny County, PA., to the "41 year" old Miss MARGARET GLENN, born about 1782, at County Derry, Ireland; died about 1872, at the age of 90 years, at Londonderry Twp. Guernsey Co., Ohio. She is buried along side her husband; They had three at least Three children born to this union: [REF:#15.] 1 1st Son: WILLIAM; 1824-1871 a47y m. c1861 Rose A. McKEOWN, 4Ch. 2 1st Dau: JANE; 1825-18?? a??y m. *1845 Jessie ALEXANDER, 1Ch. 3 2nd Dau: MARGARET E.; 1826-1911 a85y m. 1852 James ALEXANDER, 5Ch. They remained in PA. for about 17 years when in 1840 relocated to Harrison County, Ohio; The Following are the Known Children of : MATTHEW AND MARGARET (GLENN) FORSYTHE: 1.1 WILLIAM FORSYTHE; (1st s/o Matthew & Margaret (Glen) Forsythe) b. March 1824, in Allegheny County, Penn; d. Aug. 1871, at the age of 47 years and 5 months; Married about 1861, in Harrison Co., Oh. to Miss ROSANNA "Rose" A. McKEOWN; (3rd d/o ALEXANDER Sr. & ROSANNA (GLASGOW) McKEOWN; b. 1837, at Freeport, Harrison Co., Ohio.; d. Feb. 1872, at the young age of 35 years; WILLIAM FORSYTHE was a member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church (Covenanter), being elected elder soon after his marriage. It has been reported that they both were buried at the Cemetery in Londonderry, but no Head stone can be found by this writer. ROSE A. Unknown; Buried Unknown; She relocated to Ohio at the age of 15, in 1840; At the age of 20 years she married on 18 Mar. 1845, in Harrison Co., Ohio, Officiated by the Rev. JAMES LOVE, to JESSE ALEXANDER; (1st s/o JOHN and 1st Wife MARY (ALLEN) ALEXANDER; b. about 1823, County of Antrim, Ireland; Migrated to America with his parents at the age of 3 years old; lived in Penn. until 1828, then relocated to Freeport Twp. Harrison Co., Ohio; JESSE ALEXANDER and his wife JANE (FORSYTHE) ALEXANDER removed from the Ohio area; They had at least One Daughter born to this union; No more information. 1.2.1 1st. Dau: MARGARET G. ALEXANDER; b. 1846 1.2.1 1st. Dau: MARGARET GLENN ALEXANDER; (Dau of Jane (Forsythe) & Jesse Alexander) b. 1846, Harrison Co., Ohio; was living with her Grandparents MATTHEW & MARGARET FORSYTHE in the 1850 and 1860 census. No more information. NOTE: Jane (Forsythe) Alexander was the sister of "Maggie" (II) Forsythe who later married Jesse's brother James Jr. Alexander. It has been reported that JESSE ALEXANDER died prior to 1891. No record of burial in Londonderry Cemetery by this writer. "Maggie" FORSYTHE; (2nd Dau of Matthew & Margaret (Glen) Forsythe) b. about 1826, at Allegheny County, Penn; d. about 1911, at the age of 85, in Harrison Co., Ohio; is buried in the Old Covenanter Cem., Londonderry, Twp., Guernsey Co., Oh.; She relocated to Ohio at the age of 14 with her parents; At the age of 26 years, on May 27, 1852, in Freeport Twp., Harrison Co., OH she married the 23 year old JAMES ALEXANDER; b. 18 March 1829, on his fathers farm at Freeport Twp., Harrison Co., Ohio; d. about 1900, at the age of 71, in Harrison Co., Ohio; buried in Old Covenanter Cemetery, at Londonderry Twp., Guernsey Co., Oh.; He was the 4th Son of JOHN ALEXANDER, Sr. and 1st Wife MARY (ALLEN) ALEXANDER; They had five children born to this union: 6.1.1st.
