Found stored at the Zion Lutheran Church in Muscatine in 1974 by James Batchelor, who translated and transcribed them from the original German in 1976. These records were donated for our website's use by Mr. Batchelor.

The church met at the old Patterson (#4) Schoolhouse in Montpelier Township. The primary pastor of the group was Pastor Henry Reinemund from Zion Lutheran Church in Muscatine who would come periodically to hold services in the German language.

Please note that the (?) notations are from Mr. Batchelor's original transcription.  As I prepared the transcription for the website, a few additional comments were added.  These are in blue to distinguish them from the notations of Mr. Batchelor.
