Samuel W. Yeater, son of Elias G. and Elizabeth Geedy Yeater, was born in Juniata County, Pa., April 24, 1864 and died at the home of his daughter, Irene, Oct. 24, 1955, at the age of 91 years 6 months.
May 14, 1891, at Muscatine, Ia., he was married to Margaret Haigh, who preceded him in death on Jan. 20, 1934. Most of their married life was spent in the vicinity of Tipton, Iowa. To this union were born four children who grew to maturity and several who died in infancy.
As a young man he united with the Church of the Brethren. His education was received in the school of experience, which held for him a long session. At the age of eleven , his father passed away. Being the oldest of the family, he assisted his mother in providing for the family.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Irene Reife and Mrs. Velma Taylor both of Mechanicsville. Clarence and Russell preceded him in death. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Emma Steinbaugh of Muscatine, Iowa; one brother, Frank of Logansport, Ind., and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Sheets & Dahn funeral homeWednesday, Oct. 25. Elder U. J. Fike officiated. Interment was in Greenwood cemetery, Muscatine.

Funeral services for Archie Yerington, of Rochester, were held Saturday, March 14 at Sheets and Son funeral Home, Tipton with burial in Rochester cemetery.
Mr. Yerington died March 12 at Mercy hospital, Iowa City following a short illness.

Mr. Yerington was born June 26, 1928 in Muscatine, a son of Charles W. and Gertrude Everett Yerington. He was a lifelong resident. He married Dulcia Miller on Aug. 15, 1949 in Muscatine. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and had retired from employment at the Rock Island Arsenal.
Survivors include his wife; his mother of Muscatine; four brothers, Donald Yerington, John Yerington, Leo Yerington, and James Yerington, all of Muscatine; two sisters, Mrs. Keith (Kathleen) Brockert and Gertrude Yerington, both of Muscatine.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1976.

Charles W. Yerington, 75, 2110 Lucas St., died Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Veterans Hospital, Iowa City , after and extended illness.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mathias Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will begin Monday evening at the Riley Funeral Home and the Rosary will be recited there at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Mr. Yerington was born April 24, 1901, in Rochester, the son of Daniel and Nina Osborn Yerington. He married Gertrude Everett Feb. 4, 1921, in Tipton. He was a resident of Muscatine most of his life. He was the construction superintendent for the Muscatine County Highway Dept. prior to his retirement 20 years ago.
Survivors include his wife; five sons, Donald, John, Charles, Leo and James all of Muscatine; two daughters, Mrs. Keith (Kathleen) Brockert of Muscatine, and Gertrude, at home; 35 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Edwin (Kate) Morton of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Lloyd (Ruth) White of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Merle (Nira) Sterner, Wilton.

Donald Francis Yerington was born Feb. 8, 1923, in Muscatine to Charles and Gertrude Everett Yerington. He was a lifelong Muscatine resident.
He married Donna Martin in 1953 in Muscatine.
He was a heavy equipment
operator and later was a Correctional Counselor, retiring in 1984.
Donald was a decorated veteran
of World War II serving with the US Navy.

Donna Jean Yerington, 63, of 112 Turkey Road, Fruitland, died Sunday at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Mrs. Yerington was born May 21, 1934 in Muscatine, the daughter of Ernest H. and Vinnie Hahn Martin. Her first marriage was to William Harris Jr. in 1950. Her second marriage was to Donald F. Yerington in 1953.
She attended Muscatine public schools. She loved playing cards, cooking and watching birds.

Mrs. Elva Pond Yerington, 82, died at 6:10 a.m. today in Muscatine General hospital. She had lived at 1013 Cypress street until Aug. 14, when she entered the Hershey Convalescent home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the George M. Wittich funeral home. Friends may call there after noon Tuesday. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Yerington had been a Muscatine resident since 1928. She was married to Earl Yerington on April 25, of that year in Muscatine. The daughter of Thomas and Laura Pond Hiestand, she was born June 21, 1884, in Ogle county, Illinois. She lived in that state before coming here. She was a member of First Methodist church.

She was a homemaker, and had worked as a telephone operator in Rochester, for 20 years. She was of the Methodist faith.

Mr. Yerington was a member of Walnut Park Baptist church. He served in the U.S. Air Force for three and one-half years. He worked for the Muscatine Street Department for 31 years.

Mr. Yerington was born on July 25, 1925, in Muscatine County, the son of Charles W. and Gertrude Everett Yerington. He was a lifelong resident of Muscatine.
He married Arlene Worley on Sept 7, 1948. She died in 1979. He later married Marie Symmonds on Aug. 8, 1980.
He was a member of the church, the Loyal Order of the Moose, and a member of the Tri-Cities Cement Masons Local 544 in Rock Island, Ill., for many years.
He worked as a cement mason for more than 39 years, and was employed by C.H. Langman and Son, and for Langman Construction, retiring in 1988. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific with the U.S. Navy.
He loved his family and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Marie, three sons, Jeremy Yerington of Wendover, Utah, and Adam Yerington and Mark Yerington, both at home, his mother, Gertrude Yerington of Muscatine, two brothers, Leo and James Yerington both of Muscatine, and two sisters, Mrs. Keith (Kathleen) Brockert and Gertrude Yerington, both of Muscatine.

She was a graduate of Davenport West High School in Davenport, an active member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, the St. Mathias Catholic Church and its Sewing Circle, and the Women of the Moose.
She served as a volunteer at the Lutheran Homes, and was a loving mother, and caretaker of all.

Robert Yerington was born
April 29, 1910, in Tipton, the son of George W. and Hazel Duncan Yerington.
On July 21, 1931 he married
Vada Stewart in Rochester, Iowa. He was a Navy veteran of World War II
and was a member of the American Legion. Yerington had worked for many
years as a contractor and carpenter.
Survivors include his wife;
three sons, Robert F. of Muscatine, Kenneth A. of Coralville and William
K. of West Liberty; two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Louise) Deahr of West Liberty
and Mrs. Francis (Linda) Palmer of Muscatine; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;
two brothers, Daniel of Knoxville, Iowa, and Marvin of Iowa City; and three
sisters, Mrs. Carroll (Margaret) Frankhauser of West Liberty, Mrs, Henry
(Betty) Britcher of Davenport and Mrs. Ruth Livesy of Columbus, Ga.
He was preceded in death
by his parents, three brothers and a sister.

WEST LIBERTY - Vada Yerington,
78, died Monday at the Iowa City Care Center, following an extended illness.
She was born July 18, 1914
in southern Illinois, the daughter of Samuel and Rosa Allen Stewart. On
July 21, 1931 she was married to Robert A. Yerington at Wilton, Iowa.
Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the West Liberty Methodist Church with the Rev. Donald Thompson officiating.
Friends may call Tuesday 4 to 8 p.m. at the West Liberty Chapel of the Barker Funeral Home. Prayers and a reminisces service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. A memorial has been established to the Alzheimers Out Reach Program at the University of Iowa.
Pallbearers are Don Yerington, Dick Yerington, Roy Yerington, Scott Yerington, Mike Deahr, and Brian Palmer. Burial will be at the Oak Ridge Cemetery. She was a member of the United Methodist church and past president of the United Methodist Women. She was also active in the Swinging Seniors Musical Group of the Senior citizens, a leader in the Girl and Cub Scouts program as well as the farm 4-H program and the American Legion Auxilliary.
Mrs. Yerington is survived by two daughters, Louise Deahr of Madison, Wis.; Linda Palmer of Muscatine; two sons, Kenneth of Coralville and Bob of Muscatine; one brother, Herman Stewart of Atalissa; 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son and one grandson.

West Liberty--Alice M. Yotter, 85, died Friday, Aug 16, 1991, at the Lone Tree Care Center following an extended illness.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20 at the West Liberty Chapel of the Barker Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald Thompson will officiate. Burial will be at the Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call this afternoon and evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Yotter was born March 29, 1906, at Kewanee, Ill., a daughter of Thomas and Alice Woodward Martin. On Dec. 19, 1931 she was married at Kahoka, Mo. to Glen E. Yotter.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Edith) Stagg, of West Liberty, and Wanda June Hamilton, of Ripley, Calif; one son, Glen R. Yotter, of Canyon Country, Calif; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Harold of Muscatine, William of Grandview, Arthur of North Liberty and Thomas of Ainsworth; and one sister, Mrs. Charles (Elizabeth) Keef of Omaha.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters and four brothers.
