Doran Cemetery, near Wilton, Muscatine Co, IA

DORAN  CEMETERY
Wilton Twp, Section 16
Muscatine Co, IA

This cemetery is several miles southeast of Wilton.  There is a gate but no fence around the property, which is just up the road from Wildasin Cemetery.  Monuments are noted as "large and expensive for such a remote place" in a publication found at the Musser Library.  Some markers are difficult to read. This may not be all the listings from the cemetery.  It was compiled using WPA listings, records compiled by Musser Library staff and a brief visit to verify (it began raining so the visit ended abruptly) In one or two instances information from the 1910 census was used to note place of birth.

Directions: From Wilton IA proceed east on Hwy 927 (used to be Hwy 6) for approximately 1/2 mile-
turn South on Y14 (Taylor Avenue) and go about 1.6 miles. to 120th Street.  Turn east on 120th Street-
travel about a mile until you reach Thayer Avenue; Turn South on Thayer.  About 1/2 mile down Thayer there is a
dirt road on the left-turn down this road and go about a half mile to the cemetery.
