The original premise of this site
has not changed since 1996---the site exists because of a
love of the people, places and history
of the Muscatine area and that is the sole motivation for this site.
The site is NOT a page mandated by a project to complete a list of county
requirements. It is maintained by a single volunteer individual with
a lot of help from other researchers willing to share their love and knowledge
of the area with others.
| To make this site easier for me to
maintain, I have discontinued manually processing and posting of queries
and surnames. I am however the board administrator for the Muscatine
County IA Rootsweb/Ancestry query boards, and links to other places to
post and research surnames and queries are listed below. Any link
on the Table of Contents which is not onsite will be duly noted --you
will need to use your "BACK" button to get back here from those.
I have also simplified the menu in order to make it easier to add new items to the page without having to re-do the whole layout. I hope everyone will understand that after over 5 years of helter-skelter additions of data and links, the site has gotten a bit "sloppy". As time permits, I will try to clean up some of the older pages. You may encounter some non working links during this reorganization. Projects still in the works include the updates of Grandview, Memorial Park and Harker Cemeteries, more marriage and military records and general site updates. |
