Dr.
P. C. JONES, a practicing physician
of Dysart, is a native of South Wales, England. He was born June 28,
1834. His early life was spent in that country, and there he received
his classical education. During the spring of 1852, he came to America,
and immediately settled in DeKalb county, Illinois. The following fall
his parents also crossed the ocean, and followed their son to his new
home. Upon their arrival the subject of this sketch began the study
of medicine with his father, who was a physician. Subsequently he attended
Rush Medical College, Chicago, and afterwards the University of Medicine
and Surgery at Philadelphia, where he graduated with the class of 1872.
Mr. Jones then located in Brown county, Wisconsin, where he practiced
for a short time, and then removed to Iowa. He first spent some time
in Wright county, and then came to Dysart, where he has since practiced,
with the exception of four years spent in Watkins, Benton county, this
State. The doctor is a Republican, is a member of the A. O. U. W., the
Knights of Honor, and the I. L. of H., which latter he was instrumental
in organizing in Dysart. His marriage with Miss S. A. Rhodes, of Madison,
Wisconsin, occurred in April, 1864, at Whitewater, Walworth county,
of that State. They have been blessed with four children, two boys and
two girls - Birdie Ella, Millie Blanch, Frank L. and Courtland C. The
two former are deceased. |
