     Michael Bruns was born on 25 May 1954 at Moorhead, Clay County, Minnesota.2,1 On 2 April 1984 Michael Bruns married Debbie Dawn Richard, daughter of Roger Richard and Delores Marie Muhle.2 On 2 April 1994 Michael Bruns married Debbie Dawn Richard, daughter of Roger Richard and Delores Marie Muhle, at Fargo, Cass County, North Dakota.1 Michael Bruns died of complications from a racing accident of 2016 on 15 February 2021 at Sanford Health Hospital at age 66.1
     His obituary appeared and read as follows:
     Michael’s prayer service and funeral service will be livestreamed below starting at 7:00 PM Friday, February 26, 20201 and 2:00 PM Saturday, February 27, 2021.

Michael “Mike” E. Bruns, age 66, of Fargo, ND passed on peacefully Monday, February 15th 2021, at Sanford Health Hospital due to complications from a past racing accident in 2016.

Mike was born May 25, 1954, in Moorhead, MN, to his biological father Ernie Cossette and Victoria (Schnoor) Bruns. Vickie married Ray Bruns when Mike was three. In 1971 Mike changed his last name to Bruns, to honor Ray. He attended Fargo South High School and started racing in 1971 in his hobby stock. In 1975 he started racing a latemodel and in 1989 he switched to an A mod. Mike started racing both his late model and A mod in the early 2000’s. Mike had an amazing racing career of 42 plus years. His racing career ended July 15th 2016 due to a racing accident at I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls, MN Mike owned/operated Mike Bruns Radiator and Muffler.

Mike married Debbie (Richard) on April 2, 1994, in Fargo, ND. The couple lived in Fargo for their entire married life of 26 years and had 5 children and 9 grandchildren.

Mike got his nickname the “Flyin 42” in 1976 when he flew off the third corner at the Viking Speedway in Alexandria, MN. Mike flew 12 feet into Nodland Construction building. It was marked the worst wreck in the 12-year history at the Viking Speedway. He was on the board of Minn-Kota Racing Association. In the early 90’s he set the track record of 19 seconds in his A mod on the half mile at the Red River Valley Speedway. In October 2016, Mike was inducted into the Lisbon Championship Racing Hall of Fame.

Mike is survived by his wife, Debbie Bruns, Frontier, ND; children, Stephanie (Donny) Hussey, Michael Jr. (Tracey) Bruns, Jessica (Shawn) Halverson, Shane (Tayler) Bruns, Amy (William) Hagman; 9 grandchildren; mother, Victoria Bruns; siblings, Debbrah Olson, Melody (Kirk) Matheson, John Bruns, Victoria (Philip) Maenza, Richard Bruns and Vanessa Wedell, Robert (Angie) Bruns, and Timothy Bruns.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raphael Bruns.1

     Bendik Torgrimson Kroen was born in 1847.2 In 1875 Bendik Torgrimson Kroen married Kari Olsdatter, daughter of Olaf Rue and Jorand Johnsdatter.3 As of 30 October 1886, Bendik Torgrimson Kroen had taken out naturalization papers (first papers) at District Court, Clay County, Minnesota.4 In 1905 Bendik farmed at area of Max, McLean County, North Dakota.4 He died of lung fever allegedly caused by being kicked in the chest by a horse in 1907 at area of Max, McLean County, North Dakota.4
     His obituary appeared on 25 January 1907 and read as follows:
     "Mr Bendickson died at his home south-west of town last monday after a weeks illness with lung fever, and was buried yesterday afternoon in the Carlson Cemetary. Mr Bendickson was 61 years of age at the time of his death and had come to his present home from Minnesota last spring. He leaves to mourn his - wife and ten children, who have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends and neighbors."5

     Census data indicate Olav Åsmundson Skoret was born in 1853 at Norway.3,2 Census data indicate Olav Åsmundson Skoret was born in December 1855 at Norway.4 In 1879 Olav Åsmundson Skoret married Kari Olsdtr, daughter of Olaf Rue and Jorand Johnsdatter.5 Circa 1881 Olav was skomakar at Fyresdal, Telemark, Norway.6 Circa 1896 Olav Åsmundson Skoret married Kari Olsdtr, daughter of Olaf Rue and Jorand Johnsdatter. Date seems unlikely unless their children belonged to only one parent.4
     Olav Åsmundson Skoret was naturalized before 1900.4 In 1900 Olav farmed at Flowing Township, Clay County, Minnesota, and in 1900 owned his own mortgaged farm.4 He died before 1910.7

     Auver Halvorson Gryte was born in 1708 at probably Gryte Søndre, Fyresdal, Telemark, Norway.2 Auver Halvorson Gryte married Gunhild Torgrimsdtr Kvasjord. Unlikely marriage; why would Auver marry after Gunhild if she lived to 1772?3 Auver Halvorson Gryte married Kari Kjetilsdtr S. Bergland 4, daughter of Kjetil Vetleson N. Bondal 8a and Hege Tarjeisdtr Geitestad 6b, in 1732 at Norway.2 In 1744 Auver Halvorson Gryte married Gjertrud Olavsdtr Torsdalen.2 Auver Halvorson Gryte died in 1792 at Norway.2
