Jim Vannet--probably this one, but perhaps a different member of the family as there was more than one James
     James Vanett was born on 4 November 1883 at Minnesota.2,3,4 Census data indicate James Vanett was born circa 1885 at Minnesota.5 He was also reported to have been born on 2 February 1892 at .1 On 25 June 1900 James was a farm laborer at Elkton Township, Clay County, Minnesota.6 In 1910 James was a general farm laborer at Elmwood Township, Clay County, Minnesota.4 On 18 December 1912 James Vanett married Martha Manston.2 In February 1920 James farmed at a mortgaged farm, Barnesville, Clay County, Minnesota.7
     James Vanett was named executor and an heir in the will of his father James S. Vannet dated 20 January 1927 at Clay County, Minnesota.8 James Vanett died after 20 years as an invalid on 5 November 1949 at age 66.2
