"Marlyn Branden, 64, of Audubon, MN, died Saturday, November 20, 2004, at the Fairview University Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, Nov. 24 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Audubon, Reverend Ernest Geistfeld officiating. Casket bearers will be Ed Schmidt, Curt Ullrich, Doug Sletmoen, Larry Elton, John Fuglesten, and Gary Myers. Honorary bearers will be his Hawley Golden Riders and 4-H friends. Interment will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.
"Friends may call 4:00--8:00 PM Tuesday, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM, at the David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes and at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
"Carl Marlyn Branden was born January 21, 1940, in Audubon, MN, to Carl and Lizzie (Danielson) Branden. He was raised and educated in Audubon and is a 1968 graduate of Audubon High School. He married Patricia Kaatz in August, 1960, in Audubon. She died in 1981. He married Tracey Schur December 23, 1995, in Audubon. During his working life, he was employed by United Parcel Service, Haukedahl Trucking in Audubon, and Nelson Inter national in Fargo, ND. Marlyn retired in 2002.
"Marlyn was a member of Immanuel Lutheran at Audubon, the Hawley Golden Riders Horse Club, Stable Mates 4-H Club and the N.R.A. He is a former member of the Audubon City Council, the Audubon Jaycees and the Cormorant Lakes Sportsman’s Club. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren; fishing, hunting and trapping, good stories, spirited conversation over a cup of coffee, gardening and hobby farming. He loved life and interacting with people.
"Survivors include his wife, Tracey of Audubon; a son, Todd (Marla) of Audubon; two daughters, Tamara (Allen) Pesola of Lakeville, MN, Michaela of Audubon; four grandchildren, Branden, Calven, Nate and Victoria; two brothers, Duane (Connie) of Barnesville, MN, LaMoyne (Janice) of Greenbush, MN; two sisters, Carol Haukedahl of Lake Park, MN and Doris Kaatz of Detroit Lakes and his former father-in-law, Raymond Kaatz. In addition to his first wife, Patricia, he was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Larry and Dean."
