my GrGrGrandfather Our earliest known is Eleazer HUDSON born 9 Feb 1776. From the 1880 census of his daughters Caroline & Julia it is known he is born in New York. He is listed on the 1799 Blooming Grove, Orange Co. NY Tax Assessment Roll with house & lot. He is living in Blooming Grove (1800 census), Angelica, Allegany Co. NY (1810 census), & Goshen, Orange Co. NY (1820 census). Eleazer is on the Company Muster Roll, Quarantine Ground, Staten Island, New York, Consolidated Regiment of Infantry commanded by Lieut. Col. Michael Smith, New York Militia, as Private in Captain John Dunning's Company, War of 1812. He was appointed September 7, 1814 & according to his record which I located at the National Archives in Washington DC, he deserted on September 29, 1814. I have to believe that he wanted to be back home with Abigail, their 6 children & because the 7th was on the way. Might it also be that Abigail wasn't well, since she died not long after in Feb. 1816?

Eleazer died October 5, 1823 of intemperance and Elizabeth was still living in Goshen as of the 1840 census.

By 1880 Arthur & Kate were in Preston, Fillmore Co. MN & had 8 children. On Sept. 5, 1891 they received 3 land patents in Jerauld Co. SD & in 1900 the family re-located again to
Ward Co. ND.
Three of their children also had land patents:

Laura Ann & Jacob Crecelius 160 acres each on April 10, 1902 & March 23, 1908 in Hand Co. SD
