Conklin, MI, USA, Eugene "Cubby" F. Houghton, age 61, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital after a long battle with Agent Orange. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Eugene Houghton. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Nancy; daughters, Danyalle Houghton, Deanna Houghton, Devon Houghton; grandchildren, Carson, Cooper, Charley Lynn, Jayce; his mother, Lois Houghton; sister, Janet Davis; nephews, Eric, Chad; niece, Suzie; in-laws, Charles & Velma Burden, Sharon & Phil Errerger, Debbie & Ken Bayne. As Cubby had wished cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, 1:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home with Rev. Leonard "Skip" Meyer officiating. Military honors under the auspices of the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may meet the family at the funeral home on Thursday, 1 to 4 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to The Lemmon - Holton Cancer Pavilion or the Friends of the Michigan Veterans Homes Inc. Hessel-Cheslek Funeral Home, Sparta
