HOUGHTON Lois Lucile Rocher Houghton, 80, of 1133 Ingleside Ave., died Friday morning in St. Vincents Hospitals Cardiac Care Unit. She was the daughter of the late Capt. Louie E. and Frances H. Rocher and sister to the late Charlotte R. Gilbert. A fourth generation Jacksonville native, Lois graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1938 and served in the U.S. Navy during W.W. II as a Yeoman in the Bureau of Ships, Washington, D.C. She was a professional secretary and devoted wife to the late Frank B. Houghton, Sr. She attended St. Johns Episcopal Cathedral with her son, Louie and was a life long member of Edgewood Avenue Christian Church, serving as Sunday School teacher for over 65 years and a Girl Scout Leader for twenty years. Lois is survived by her sons, Frank B. Houghton (Reta), of Jacksonville; Wayne T. Houghton, of Green Cove Springs; and Louie H. Houghton of Jacksonville; 4 grand-daughters, Teresa R. Jones (Bob), of Trinity; Janette L. Radtke and Barbara R. Radtke, of Clearwater; Joanna L. Houghton of Jacksonville; one grandson, Tristan T. Houghton, Jacksonville; several nieces and nephews, and innumerable friends. Viewing will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday evening at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 729 S. Edgewood Ave., with funeral services Wednesday at 11 A.M. in the Edgewood Avenue Christian Church, 1401 S. Edgewood Ave, with Rev. Mitch Skelton officiating.
