Burial will be in Lyonsburg Cemetery, Bliss.

A former resident of Warsaw and Bliss, Mrs. Houghton died Sunday (March 6, 1994) in Wyoming County Community Hospital, Warsaw.

Born in Buffalo, the former Elizabeth Brown was a graduate of Arcade High School and Rochester Business Institute.

She and her husband, Franklin, who died in 1979, owned and operated a family farm. She also was employed for 13 years in the Letchworth Central School cafeteria in Gainesville.

Mrs. Houghton was a member of United Church of Warsaw, the church Women's Guild and the Warsaw Monday Club. She also was a member of Bliss Baptist Church and Stebbins Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Pike.

Survivors include a daughter, Marjorie Martin; two sons, Richard C. of Rochester and William D. of Oxnard, Calif; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

BELFAST - William D. "Bill" Houghton, 71, of Route 19, Belfast, passed away Saturday (March 23, 2013) at his home.
He was born Nov. 1, 1941, in Warsaw, a son of the late Franklin and Betty Brown Houghton.
A 10-year resident of the area - previously of Ventura County, Calif., since 1971 and originally of the Bliss area - Bill was a member of Eagle Valley Lodge 1161 in Bliss and was a 32nd-Degree Mason at the Valley of Coudersport, Pa.
He was a self-employed contractor at DBA Bill's Landscaping, beginning in 1976. He then went on to work in the lawn and garden department at Target in Camarillo, Calif. Bill belonged to numerous square-dancing clubs in Ventura County and was a member of the Rambling Squares Camping Club.
He was predeceased by his wife, Darlene Workman Houghton; and a brother, Richard C. Houghton.
Survivors include a sister, Marjorie Houghton of Centerville; three nephews, Jim Young of Freedom, Jeff (Debbie) Young of Rushford and Joe (Griselle) Young of Lantana, Fla; a niece, Jennifer Young of Yorkshire; four grandnieces, Teal Randall and Deanna, Kristyn and Katie Young; a great-grandnephew, Mitchell Randall; and a great-grandniece, Lacey Randall.
Friends of Bill may call from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday (April 6, 2013) at the Weeks Funeral Home, 123 N. Main St., Warsaw. A memorial service will be held following calling hours at noon with his Masonic brothers as celebrants. Burial will take place at a later date in the Lyonsburg Cemetery, Bliss. He was employed at Jen-Coat for over twenty years. Frank leaves his wife of twenty-seven years, Annette A. (Amberlock) Houghton and his children; Frank P. Houghton IV and his wife Juliet Jones of Chicago, IL, Gregory Houghton of West Springfield, Michelle LaBay of Ludlow, Julianne Houghton of Rocky Hill, CT, Jacob B. Houghton and Sarrah S. Houghton both of Woronoco, and two grandchildren, Ava and Julia Parent. He also leaves a sister Donna Rosati and her husband Thomas of Hernando, FL and two brothers William Houghton and his wife Debra of Westfield, and Robert Houghton and his wife Donna of Southwick. Frank enjoyed riding his motorcycle, puzzles, and trivia. He was proud to participate in many patriotic and community events. Frank was a member of The American Legion Post 454 of Westfield, American Legion Riders, Vietnam Veterans Post 219, and The Huntington-Federal Masonic Lodge. Frank was a very social person and could start a conversation with anyone. His goal each day was to make at least one person smile. His memory will live on to the many people whose lives he touched. PEORIA -- Gordon L. "Pete" Houghton, 59, of 602 S. Barnewolt Drive died at 6:29 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center emergency room.
He was born Aug. 23, 1940, in Peoria to John C. and Ruby Tuttle Houghton Jr. Surviving are two brothers, Dennis (and Becky) of Metamora and John (and Beverly) of Springfield, Mo; two sisters, Jane Wing of Peoria and Karen Burkhart of Freemont, Calif; eight nieces; and six nephews.
His parents preceded him in death. He worked for the United States Postal Service for more than 30 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of the United States Postal Retirees. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. The Rev. Bruce Dow will officiate. The family will greet friends 30 minutes before services at the chapel. Cremation has been accorded. Burial of ashes will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens at a later date.

ObituarySep 24, 2016METAMORA - Dennis "Denny" A. Houghton, 72, of Metamora passed away Thursday, September 22, 2016, at Morton Terrace HRC from complications of Alzheimer's disease.
He was born to John C. and Ruby A. (Tuttle) Houghton on December 14, 1943. Denny was a long-time resident of Peoria and graduated from Richwoods High School. From a young age, his passion in life was for archery and hunting. He was more interested in the techniques associated with archery and the skill involved in the hunt, than with the actual "kill". He was a member of Kickapoo Archers of Peoria and a charter member of the Fred Bear Sportsman's Club. He owned and operated Ardell Archery in Princeville for a number of years and was Bear Archery's Salesman of the Year in 1976. He compiled and produced the CD recording "CAMPFIRE STORIES AS TOLD BY FRED BEAR" issued in 2003. He worked in various sales positions throughout his lifetime.
Denny is survived by his wife, Becky, of Metamora; daughters, Christy of Virden and Jennifer of Chillicothe; and four grandchildren, Katelynn, Jacob, Christopher and Rebecca. A step-daughter, Joyce, and two step-grandsons, Dakota and Montana, all of Rochelle, also survive him as do two older sisters, Karen and Jane.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruby Houghton, in 1994 and 1988, respectively. He was also preceded by a younger brother, Gordon L "Pete," in 1999 and an older brother, John Darrell, in 2014. Denny was a member of Great Oaks Community Church in Germantown Hills.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Denny's Life will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016, at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Illinois Alzheimer's Association at 608 W. Glen Ave. Peoria, IL 61614 or the St. Jude Midwest Affiliate at 4722 N. Sheridan Road, Peoria, Il. 61614. The family wishes to thank the caregivers, nurses and CNAs at Morton Terrace, Grandview and Unity-Point Methodist who helped to care for Denny during the years of his illness and also the love and support of friends and family.

Edward was born Aug. 7, 1915, in Peoria, the son of Levi and Bertha Sanders Hudgens. He married Dorothy Jane Houghton in Peoria on Feb. 22, 1936. She preceded him in death on April 17, 2001.

He is survived by one daughter, Cynthia (Les) Sauder of Roanoke; two sons, Stephen Hudgens of Gilbert, Ariz., and the Rev. Lance (Jacque) Hudgens of St. Louis, Mo; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Peoria, where he was an elder, chaired the Worship Committee, taught communicant classes, and developed shepherding groups. He later joined Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria. His faith in Christ was the most important thing to him.

Edward worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company, Westinghouse, and retired from Sears as a sales manager.

Edward was a member of Peoria Racquet Club for more than 25 years. He continued to play tennis until he was 88 years old. He was a leader in the Boy Scouts and Indian Guides.

To his children, he was faithful, an amazing man, and their hero.

Burial will be at Fondulac Township Cemetery.

Resovich Houghton, 67, Kansas City, Kan., died Aug. 23, 1994, at St. Luke's Hospital. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Rosedale Sharing Community Church at 1444 Southwest Boulevard, Kansas City, Kan; cremation. Friends may call following the service at the church. The family requests no flowers and suggests contributions to the Kansas City Hospice. Mrs. Houghton was a lifelong area resident. She co-managed the Common Ground Gift-N-Thrift in Kansa s City, Kan., for 10 years, retiring in 1992.

She received a social work degree from the Univeristy of Kansas, Lawrence, in 1949. She was a former member of the Rosedale United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, George D. Houghton of the home; a son, Trevor Houghton, Kansas City; a daughter, Hilary Duderstadt, Overland Park; six brothers, Tom Resovich, Canoga Park, Calif., Nick Resovich, Montrose, Colo., Eli Resovich, Kansas City, and Steve Resovich, Mike Resovich and George Resovich, all of Kansas City, Kan; and a grandson.
