JEANNE SUZANNE MARKS
FANNIN - Jeanne Suzanne Houghton Marks (Mama Jeannie), 91, passed away early Thursday morning Nov. 24, 2011, at home in Fannin. She was born on Aug. 10, 1920 in Benson, MN, to Margaret and I J Houghton.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Joyce Marks; her daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Lenny Steffens; brother and sister-in-law, Phil and Judy Houghton. Jeanne was blessed with 5 grandchildren and their spouses, Clint and Suzanne Steffens, Grayson Marks, Erika and Wade Mulcock, Forrest Marks and Larkann Marks; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one grandson.
Jeanne previously lived in Barker and was active in her community. She loved horses, working cattle, hunting and fishing. She spent many hours with her grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be at the Goliad Funeral Home Sunday night from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 28, 2011 at 10 am at the Fannin United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Fannin Live Oak Cemetery.
Memorials may be made either to Fannin United Methodist Church or the Cowboy Trailhead Church in Goliad.
