Valerie Zito: Jeanette Duncan who married a Eddie Halter was my godmother.. To my knowledge Jeanette had only 1 son - Dale and a stepdaughter. There were no other children.
It is possible that I would not have know about the 1st son James, but it is not possible for me not to have known about the Peter M.. Jeanette ,was born in St. Edwards, Nebraska as were parents, Neither her nor her parents ever lived in Southern California, but in Sacramento. . And knowing what I know of her medical history it is very unlikely she had 3 children, secretly going to Los Angeles to give birth twice. The vital records do not provide complete enough information.
It is much more likely that the mother of Peter and James was the Jeanette Duncan who appears in the 1930 census for San Bernardino, Ca. She was born in 1924 and her parents names are George and Mamie. She was born in California. Coincidentally, she may also have married someone by the name of Halter. When the person saw the same maiden name and the same husband's name, they assumed they were from the same family and there was only one Jeanette

I believe Jeanette parents are correct, - James Orsen Duncan and Winifred Kingsley.
I'd be interested in knowing the connection to the additional children.

I believe the James Joseph Halter is Jeanette's brother. Dale Edward Halter has passed away.³
