OBITUARY
John Ryan

April 23, 2003
John Ryan, 86, of Bainbridge Island died April 18, 2003, at Martha & Mary Health Care Center in Poulsbo.

He was born Nov. 21, 1916, in Seattle to George and Martha Ryan.

Mr. Ryan served in the Army Air Force from 1942 to 1945, achieving the rank of captain. He was awarded the American Theater Medal, the World War II Victory Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal.

He went on to become an entrepreneur. He was a Mason and a member of the Episcopal faith.

Survivors include a daughter, Julie Parr of Portland, Ore; a sister, Frances Ryan; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Friday at on the Bainbridge Island Commons. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. May 1 at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent.³

Estate

LeAnn Boardman, Estate sale: "We have found within the items going to auction documents that may be of particular interest to family. These include early deeds in Massachusetts dated in the late 1700's to Levi Houghton, family photo's that include Henry
M., hand painted porcelain by Martha Houghton Ryan. The deeds and other paper memorabilia were found in a leather pouch that a newspaper clipping stated belonged to Levi Houghton."²
