Biography

His life career was that of, first the U.S. Army Air Corps, having been stationed in Thurliegh, Bedfordshire, England duriong the second world war. He was an aircraft mechanic on the B-17's that flew missions over Germany dropping bombs on military targets. He was with the 368th Squadron of the 306th Bomb Group. His group was credited with being the group to first bomb military targets in Germany during the war. While in England, he met and married Monica Evelyn Worboys of Luton, Bedfordshire, England on 12 May 1945 in Bedford, Bedfordshire, England. She was a member of the Women's land Army of Great Britain. She emigrated to the United States in August of 1946. When the U.S. Air Force was incepted post world war 2, my father transferred into it and remained there until his retirement. They divorced in 1968 and she relocated to El Paso, Texas where she died in 1992. My father still lives, being the last surviving member of his nuclear family. He is retired from the U.S. Air Force, having served 30 years on active duty and retiring as an E-9, Master Chief Master Sergeant. He was a retired aircraft maintenace supervisor. He splits his time between the family homestead on Orr's Island, Maine and Tucson, Arizona in the winter.³
