HOUGHTON, Anna L., 79, of Jacksonville, Fla., died September 26, 2007. Born in Atlanta, Ga., Anna was a longtime and very active member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Palm Harbor, Fla. Upon moving to Jacksonville, she became very active and involved with the Mandarin United Methodist Church. Anna was predeceased by her mother, Beatrice Smith Cagle, and her father, Jacob Washington Cagle, as well as by her beloved husband, Melvin H. Houghton; daughter, Anna L. Houghton Patterson; both of her brothers, Barry O. Cagle and Jacob W. Cagle; and many friends and other family members. She leaves behind a son, Robert Lawrence Houghton (Colleen); daughters, Cheryl Marie Houghton Samek (Donald) and Teresa Diane Houghton Lewis (William); six grandchildren, Christopher Michael Houghton (Karrie), Kevin Paul Houghton (Abby), Tara Lynn Samek, Erika Amber Samek, Bethany Nicole Lewis and Alyssa Michelle Lewis; three great-grandchildren, Taylor, child of Kevin and Abby, and Grace and Madeline, children of Chris and Karrie. She is also survived by three sisters, Virginia Lee, Jane LIttle (Walter) and Jean Adams. Anna was a very giving and loving person, and she will be missed by many. Services will take place at noon Saturday, October 13, at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Palm Harbor, Fla. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation, 12902 Magnolia Drive, UTC-Found, Tampa, FL 33612, or to St. Joseph' s Indian School, Chamberlain, SD, 57326.www.stjo.org. Arrangements are being handled by Greenlawn Funeral Home in Jacksonville, Fla.
