(b 3-30-1902 MI, d 10-19-1927, buried Bethlehem Cemetery, Ann Arbor). Their children: 1) Raymond
Leroy, b 1921, d 1944 in WWII having enlisted in 1942, was navigator for Flying Fortress, received
wings and commissioned Lieut 8-1943, reported missing in action 1-11-1944 following raid over
Germany; 2) Kenneth, also served in WWII; 3) Ruthmary, m Stillwell. Leroy was member of
Trinity Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor. He is buried in Bethlehem Cemetery, Ann Arbor.

6-8-1930; 2) twins David & Donald. Donald was postal carrier for Dexter Rt II many years, in 1970 in
charge of Dexter P.O., in 1985 transferred to Ann Arbor P.O., m to Norma , had 4 children. "Alta"
was assistant postmaster at Dexter accepting position 5-1926; also organist at Webster Church. (It was
her granddaughter that I talked to in Missouri about "final clincher" note Mrs Haworth had written;
according to note she died in 1989.)
From Dexter Leader: "Corydon L Thurber, 76 years, died at his home on Dexter Rd, 3 miles west of
Ann Arbor, 9-11-1939. He was bom 7-13-1863 in Webster Twp and married Laura E Lowe of,
Webster, who died in 1931. In 1932 he married Mrs Jean Hunter of Detroit, a former resident of Dexter
Village. Mr Thurber had been a rural carrier at the Dexter Post Office for 28 years until retiring. He is
survived by his widow, a son LeRoy of Ann Arbor and 2 daughters, Mrs Thomas Cobb of Ann Arbor
& Mrs John Haworth of Webster, 13 grandchildren & 5 great-grandchildren."
