ObituaryAug 12, 1958Heart Attack Fatal To Clergyman, 82 New Haven. Aug. 12 — The Rev. Dr. Roy M. Houghton pastor emeritus of the Church of Christ Congregational in Milford died yesterday following a heart attack. He was 82. Bom in Laingsburg. Mich., he was direct descendant of John Houghton who founded Lancaster, Mass., in 1650.
He was a graduate of Yale Divinity School in 1905. During World War I Houghton served as YMCA secretary in France attached to the 26th (Yankee) Division, made up of troops from the New England states. He leaves his wife, Caroline Eisenhart Houghton and a brother, Dr. Guy D. Houghton of Caledonia. Mich.
